An ultrasound and blood work performed at the start of an IVF cycle (usually cycle day 2-3) to confirm readiness to begin stimulation.
In IVF Treatment
The baseline scan checks antral follicle count (AFC), ovarian appearance, and uterine lining. Blood tests measure FSH, E2, and LH. The cycle proceeds only if everything looks appropriate.
