Definition

A minimally invasive surgical procedure using a camera inserted through small abdominal incisions to view and treat pelvic organs.

In IVF Treatment

Laparoscopy is used to diagnose and treat endometriosis, remove ovarian cysts, check for blocked tubes (hydrosalpinx), and treat uterine adhesions. It may be recommended before IVF if pelvic disease is suspected.
