Embryo Thaw
procedureDefinition
The process of warming cryopreserved embryos back to body temperature in preparation for frozen embryo transfer.
In IVF Treatment
Embryos are thawed on the morning of or the day before transfer. Survival rates with modern vitrification are typically 90-95% for blastocysts. If an embryo does not survive the thaw, the transfer is cancelled and the next embryo is used.
