The two-week wait (TWW) between embryo transfer and your pregnancy test is often described as the hardest part of IVF. Time slows down. Every twinge becomes a sign. Every Google search leads to a rabbit hole.
We asked our community what actually helped them get through it. Here's what they shared.
Distraction, not avoidance
There's a difference between healthy distraction and avoiding your feelings. Binge-watching a comfort show, starting a puzzle, or diving into a project can give your mind a break. But if sadness or anxiety surfaces, let it. Both can coexist.
Limit symptom searching
This is the hardest one. Early pregnancy symptoms and progesterone side effects are nearly identical. Searching "TWW symptoms" at 3am won't give you answers, but it will increase your anxiety. Consider setting a daily time limit for fertility-related browsing.
Move your body gently
Light walks, gentle yoga, or stretching can help with both the physical discomfort and the mental load. Follow your clinic's guidance on activity levels, and listen to your body.
Connect with someone who gets it
Talking to someone who has been through the TWW is different from talking to someone who hasn't. The IVF community understands the specific weight of those 14 days. You don't have to explain why you're anxious. They already know.
